One of the oldest casinos on the Las Vegas Strip celebrated the completion of a four-year, $200 million overhaul as Caesars Entertainment employees unveiled the redesigned Harrah's Las Vegas casino.
"As the flagship location for the iconic gaming and hospitality brand, remodeling Harrah's Las Vegas not only enhances the guest experience, it further embodies the essence of making Las Vegas," said Harrah's Senior Vice President and General Manager. The fun and vibrancy of Sri Lanka as a unique tourist destination.”
The purple lighting isn't just limited to the exterior, as it also accentuates the lobby and casino floors of the Harrah's Hotel. After a phased refurbishment of Valley Tower rooms in 2016 and 2018, Harrah's completed the redesign of all 2,542 rooms and suites last year. That includes the tower, which the company spent another $70 million to complete. The design of the room was done by Marnell Architecture. The refurbishment also includes suites at Harrah's. These properties now feature oversized bathtubs, separate living and dining rooms with wet bars, and the option of connecting two bedrooms.
Harrah's Las Vegas dates back to 1973, when it opened as a holiday casino. Only six existing hotels on the Strip are older. In 1992, company executives renamed it after William Harrah, founder of the Harrah's Casino chain. The Holiday Company, which owns the casino and Holiday Inn chain, bought Harrah's business in 1980, less than two years after his death.
In addition to the recently completed renovations, the property has undergone three major renovations. The most recent occurred in 1997. At the time, officials spent $200 million to ditch the riverboat casino theme since it opened. In addition to more than 2,500 guest rooms, the resort features 87,000 square feet of gaming space, retail sportsbooks, a weekend spa, 25,000 square feet of meeting space, and a pedestrian bridge connecting to the Caesars Forum Convention Center. Harrah's also has six restaurants, including Ruth's Chris Steak House and CakeBoss star Buddy Valastro's PizzaCake.
