Pokerstars applies for an online gaming license in Delaware

Post by Bookmaker »

Fourteen companies, including Pokerstars, have filed applications for licenses for online gambling services in Delaware. The state's department responsible for online gambling recently sought advice to help grow online gambling.

So far, PokerStars' parent company, Rational Group Group, and 13 other companies have responded to help the state make online gambling. Other large companies filing applications include 888, Amaya Gaming, SHFL Entertainment, IGT, Stan James PLC, and Continent 8 Technologies.

Delaware officials say they hope to launch real money online gambling by the end of September. They asked any companies submitting applications if they could provide services within that time. While it's unclear what these companies can offer, Delaware's gaming department is looking for vendors in four areas: back-end technology platform providers, operations management providers, game content providers, and customer service providers.

With Nevada online poker approaching and New Jersey legalizing online poker, lawmakers in various states are looking to expand interstate agreements that broaden player pools. Delaware seeks companies that have been operating for at least 1 year and have experience operating in European and North American markets.
