The main event of the Red Dragon Tournament set an Asian record of 635 participants in February 2012, and this year's MPC Macau Poker Cup coincides with PokerStars celebrating the relocation of Macau's largest and most luxurious Macau poker room to City of Dreams, Macau, thus raising the guaranteed total prize money of the main event and is expected to set a new record for the number of participants.

Danny McDonagh, Director of Live Events for Asia Pacific, PokerStars, said: "Warming up the new venue with the MPC Macau Poker Cup has become a routine in the PokerStars LIVE Macau poker room. The announcement of our move to City of Dreams Macau has generated a lot of repercussions among players, and we will try our best to hit the new venue and set a new record! ”

Mr. Steven Webster, Senior President, Marketing, Melco Resorts & Entertainment Limited, said, "The City of Dreams PokerStars LIVE Macau Poker Room provides the ultimate entertainment atmosphere for poker players around the world, and is set to become the most successful poker cup event in Asia. At the same time, we believe that the "City of Dreams PokerStars LIVE Macau Poker Room" will significantly enhance the new poker experience in Macau to a higher level.

The tournament will last for 10 days and 9 events will be included in the Asian Poker Stars Leaderboard, including a HK$5,500 tournament and a $20,000 tournament with guaranteed total prize money of HK$500,000 and HK$1,000,000 respectively. Players who become Asian PokerStars 2013 will also receive a one-year sponsorship from PokerStars LIVE.

Celina Lin, a two-time winner of the Red Dragon Tournament Main Event, said: "The MPC Macau Poker Cup always excites me, and this Red Dragon Tournament Main Event is not to be missed. City of Dreams is also well worth a visit. As long as you are in Macau and want to have fun, City of Dreams is the only choice. Coupled with the new poker room, I'm afraid some people won't be able to leave there again! ”
